Kaya is a spreadable coconut caramel traditional to Southeast Asia. Dulu Deli’s signature spread is traditionally made with pasteurised free range duck eggs - stirred for at least 3-4 hours to develop deep caramelisation then finished with dark toasted caramel to give a dark brown colour, full bodied and sweet coconuty flavour.
Pairs perfectly on toast with a slab of salted butter. Also goes well with breakfast oats, pancakes, waffles, crumpets, glutinous rice, Chinese donuts, whipped into buttercream icing, enriching your cake batter… the possibilities are infinite!
