Silverbeet Teriyaki Stir Fry
While not very common to use silverbeet in Asian cooking, silverbeet is good source of iron, vitamins and calcium. This silverbeet teriyaki stir fry is quick, nutritious and packed with flavour. Most importantly, it uses seasonal produce for Spring. Enjoy with a how bowl of rice or noodles.
Ingredients
- 1 bunch silverbeet
- 1 tbsp peanut oil
- 3 green onions, trimmed, cut into 5cm lengths
- 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 3cm piece fresh ginger, finely grated
- 1 long red chilli, thinly sliced
- 150g snow peas, trimmed, halved diagonally
- 1/4 cup Jimoto Foods Shiso Teriyaki Sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tsp sesame seeds, toasted
Method
- Remove and discard stems from silverbeet. Cut leaves in half lengthways, removing centre vein.
- Heat peanut oil in a wok over high heat. Add onion, garlic, ginger, chilli and snow peas. Stir-fry for 2 minutes or until fragrant. Add silverbeet leaves. Stir-fry for 4 to 5 minutes or until just starting to wilt.
- Add teriyaki sauce, honey and sesame oil. Stir-fry for 1 minute or until combined. Serve sprinkled with sesame seeds.
