Rice

Buy in small batches and what you use within a few months for peak freshness.
Use bay leaves as a natural bug repellent.

Avoid refrigeration as it will can introduce moisture which causes spoilage.
Transfer to airtight container to retain its freshness, prevent pests and odours from permeating them.
Avoid direct sunlight, heat and humidity. A typical pantry cupboard will suffice.
