Ingredients

Wontons (makes approx. 25)

  • 250g chicken mince
  • 8–10 (approx. 120g) raw prawns, roughly chopped
  • 2 spring onions, finely sliced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp corn flour
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 25 wonton wrappers

Soup

  • 1 x Naked Asian Grocer Noodle Kit (Original Ramen – Spicy Mushroom Base)

Optional Add-Ins

  • Pak choy, halved
  • Dried bean curd knots

To Garnish

  • Chilli oil
    Fresh coriander
    Sesame seeds

Method

1. Make the Wontons

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken mince, chopped prawns, spring onions, sesame oil, salt, pepper, water, corn flour and soy sauce. Mix until well combined and slightly sticky.
  2. Lay a wonton wrapper flat in your hand. Place about 1 teaspoon of filling in the centre.
  3. Dip your finger in water and lightly brush the edges of the wrapper. Fold and seal tightly, pressing out any air. (You can fold into your preferred wonton shape.)
  4. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

2. Cook the Wontons

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a gentle boil.
  2. Add the wontons in batches and cook for 3–4 minutes, or until they float and the filling is cooked through.
  3. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.

3. Prepare the Noodles & Broth

  1. Cook the noodles from the noodle kit according to packet instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a separate saucepan, heat the soup base sachet with the recommended amount of water (as per packet instructions). Bring to a gentle simmer.

4. Add Vegetables

  1. Add pak choy and dried bean curd knots (if using) to the simmering broth.
  2. Cook for 2–3 minutes, or until tender but still vibrant.

5. Assemble

  1. Divide noodles between four bowls.
  2. Top with cooked wontons.
  3. Ladle over the hot soup and vegetables.

6. Garnish & Serve

Finish with a drizzle of chilli oil, fresh coriander and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

Serve immediately and enjoy a bowl of warming, homemade comfort.
